The story

A touch that wasn't his.

Fencing is decided in milliseconds, and character shows just as fast. Nobody else saw it: not the referee, not his opponent. Jiří reported it anyway.

Moral Code follows a boy who grows into an Olympic fencer, and a masked hero who learns that fairness is not a weakness.

Today Jiří works with young people and teaches them the same thing. The comic grew out of that work.

Story

Jiří Beran

An Olympic fencer who has devoted himself fully to children since his career ended. Together with his dad, he set up a foundation supporting young fencers, and he travels to schools to teach kids how to fence and how to win fair. The Moral Code comic carries his idea further – even to places he can’t reach himself.

Comic dynamics with cinematic emotion. He draws Moral Code in Buenos Aires, the city where Jiří won his first World Cup in 2007.

Art director

Jitka Lochmanová

She leads the visual side of Moral Code from the first idea to print. She prepared the storyboard, designed the logo and lettering, and oversees proofreading and the overall look of the comic. 21 years in art direction and video.
